Yellowstone Trip

It was the summer of 2017 when it all happened. We stopped at Soda Butte (a non active geyser on the side of the  road) for our annual trip past it into the valley. Most people don't know this, but it you walk down the path around Soda Butte, there is a beautiful landscape of streams and brooks that run over colorful rocks and sand. My dad is sort of a nature nerd so we always take off our shoes and go wading around looking for petrified wood and agates. It's always super fun, but this time something happened that ruined the rest of the trip for our whole family.
This year our cousins were with us, so it was fun for us to show them around. My dad's cousin jumped across a larger stream with no trouble at all. My mom, in the meantime, usually has dad carry her across, thought she could jump over the stream with the same agility, leapt across and landed with both feet on the rocks on the other side. As she landed she heard her knee pop out to the side and she crumpled to the ground. Mom sat by the water for the better part of fifteen minutes. She said later that she threw up from the pain. When we went back to the car, my dad and his other cousin had to carry her back up. Dad took the another car and raced to the nearest hospital. We learned later that mom had torn her ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament). It is a ligament that keeps your knee bones together.
That night we had a sleepover at my friend Ella Barthel's so that mom could have surgery. it was a scary night! The next morning we went home and mom was laying on the couch. we didn't do school for three weeks after that because mom had to sleep most of the time. I am thankful that God took care of our family in that time of crisis.

Pros and cons of social distancing

There are many pros and cons to social distancing. Some pros are getting  to stay in touch with friends even though you cant see them. You also have lots of time to be outside and go on hikes, I also like getting to hang out with family and play fun bored games.     Some cons of social distancing would be not getting to go to youth group and church, but at least we can watch church online, another con is not getting to see your friends, but again at least we can text or facetime them. These are a few of my thoughts on what some pros and cons are. Different Views of Spring

(Olivia and Chloe)              Spring is a fun season for both me and my cat. We both view it differently. I'll start with my cat. First, her name is Chloe. Each day, she dreams that I will let her outside to frolic in the green grass and murder one or two or three birds, just like the good old days. Let me tell you, it got old of seeing feathers on our lawn- even worse was cleaning up the mess. You know, dead birds can't clean up after themselves. Chloe has a mind of her own. She expects someone will do what she says. Whatever that is. After I stopped releasing my cat to do as she pleased- kill animals, leave her messes on people's yards, (that includes dead animals) and trespass in backyards- I decided what she does want. ...

Quaratine

I think we all feel about the same about being quarantined, but I would like to tell you about what I think. it is awesome to spend time with my family. I've had a bit more time to do out door activities but all of our fun events got canceled like Church, youth group, and soccer. I do get to stay in touch with friends even though we don't get to actually see them. my family and I  have youth group on zoom and we get to watch church on our tv. School keeps me busy so I'm not bored out of my mind but over all I wish we didn't have to do this.
