Surprise or Not

Thursday was the day before my dad's birthday, so Mom, Callie, and I went to the Burger Dive and Dairy Queen to buy gift cards for him.  At suppertime my family was talking about a friend who went to the Burger Dive.  I asked my mom if she saw him there.  She stared at me. My sisters started asking if we went to the Burger Dive.  I tried to remind my mom, "Mom, don't you remember? We went there today for Dad's gift card. Don't you remember?"
She stared pointedly at me.  Dad laughed and asked if we got him a Burger Dive gift card.  We all burst out laughing.
It doesn't end there though.  Mom began talking about how busy the Burger Dive was and my sister, Callie said, "Not as busy as Dairy Queen!"
Another birthday gift cover blown!

Different Views of Spring

(Olivia and Chloe)              Spring is a fun season for both me and my cat. We both view it differently. I'll start with my cat. First, her name is Chloe. Each day, she dreams that I will let her outside to frolic in the green grass and murder one or two or three birds, just like the good old days. Let me tell you, it got old of seeing feathers on our lawn- even worse was cleaning up the mess. You know, dead birds can't clean up after themselves. Chloe has a mind of her own. She expects someone will do what she says. Whatever that is. After I stopped releasing my cat to do as she pleased- kill animals, leave her messes on people's yards, (that includes dead animals) and trespass in backyards- I decided what she does want. ...

My Cat-Dog

My Cat- Dog by Olivia I’m on a case to figure out if I own cat-dog. I think my cat is turning into one! Here’s my evidence so far. My Chloe (that’s my cat’s name) often scratches at the door to be let out. “Squirrel! Squirrel!” she tells me. At first, I don’t believe her. I decide to check it out. “I declare! There really is a squirrel!” I tell her. Sometimes, she pulls herself along a carpeted floor with her front paws. I bet she’s too in love with the floor to leave it. I’ve seen my cousin’s corgi do something like that before, except I don’t think he was in love with the floor. I have another suspicion. My cat-dog chases her tail! I’ve definitely seen a dog do that. Well, I guess she doesn’t chase her tail, but she does bite it! Sometimes she even growls at it. “Ooh! Ooh!” she tells me. “My tail is moving! It’s wiggling! It’s so exciting! I must get it! I must get it! I’m a cat-dog so I must catch my tail!” This is so weird for me. It must stop. Hmm. Perhaps, No…. Wait………Y...

Pros and cons of social distancing

There are many pros and cons to social distancing. Some pros are getting  to stay in touch with friends even though you cant see them. You also have lots of time to be outside and go on hikes, I also like getting to hang out with family and play fun bored games.     Some cons of social distancing would be not getting to go to youth group and church, but at least we can watch church online, another con is not getting to see your friends, but again at least we can text or facetime them. These are a few of my thoughts on what some pros and cons are.
